Remarks
from students on the
5-Day Seminar .
-
Having had my own business since 1985 with 60+
employees and having attended many workshops/seminars,
this PV workshop was one of the best organized and along
with Ken’s knowledge of the PV industry, made this three
day workshop a complete success. Ken has the ability to
pass on his knowledge of 12 years in the PV industry to
a class made up of non-electricians with great success.
Paul Guarracino, Briracliff, NY
- I wanted to thank Heat Spring for
the wonderful opportunity to attend a workshop in the
the local Danbury, CT area. The program was a perfect
balance of educational material and instructor
experience (Ken Thames instructor), which was extremely
helpful to anyone wanting to jump start their PV
business. Dennis MacDougall, VP for Facilities at Pace
University.
-
Ken is the preeminent solar professional in
Colorado. He has been installing and studying solar PV
systems for decades. Ken has the knowledge and ability
to simplify complex systems, and his commitment to
excellence is unsurpassed. David Johansson, Master
Electrician Denver Metro area.

Out back PS2 final day lab (right)
The final day of classes is devoted
to batteries. You will build a
complete battery backed up Outback PS2 system that will
work! Learn how to connect the batteries, charge
controller, DC box, Inverters, AC box and Combiner box
properly. Turn on the system and program the inverters
with the mate to properly put out 120/240. Connect a
back up Generator and learn how the Inverters can charge
the batteries. The class will also hook up a small solar
array to see the charge controller MPPT and charge the
batteries.
